Pain as a learned response: a review of behavioral factors in chronic pain

This review of the literature on pain behavior suggests that learning factors may have a critical role in shaping an individual's response to pain. Understanding these pain behaviors becomes especially helpful in diagnosis and treatment of patients with chronic pain.
