" Brian Shearer, Ph.D., author of "Biofilm and the Dental Office (February JADA), wishes to acknowledge the assistance of Dr. Chester Summers, formerly of the Division of Oral Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. " Some material was inadvertently omitted from the article "Latex Hypersensitivity: Its Prevalence Among Dental Professionals (January JADA). On page 84 in the first full paragraph in the third column, the first sentence should read, In the absence of commercial latex skin-testing materials, we made four latex preparations." On page 87, in the middle column, the following sentence should be inserted after the words "... potentially standardizable source for a latex test material.: "In vitro diagnosis of immediate-type latex allergy is possible with currently available commercial assays."
