The authors present clinical and radiographic measures for theearly detection of potential maxillary canine impaction. Interceptingthe impaction process by timely removal of the primary canines,as demonstrated in several representative cases, allows thepermanent canines to erupt normally and, thus, prevents theirpotential impaction.
