APPOINTMENTS/ELECTIONS/AWARDS

Dr. Don L. Allen, Houston, was designated Dean Emeritus at the University of Texas Dental Branch.

Dr. Arthur A. Dugoni, San Francisco, received the 1999 Callahan Memorial Award by the Ohio Dental Association.

Dr. R. Kent Farnsworth, Sacramento, Calif., was installed as president of the California Dental Association; Dr. Debra S. Finney, Folsom, Calif., was installed as treasurer of the California Dental Association.

Dr. Dudley H. Glick, Beverly Hills, Calif., was inducted into the University of Southern California Dental School Hall of Fame.

Dr. Thomas Hart, Marietta, Ga., joined the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine as associate professor in the division of oral biology.

Dr. Lewis Mitchell, Gadsen, Ala., received the Distinguished Alumni award from the University of Alabama-Birmingham School of Dentistry.

Dr. Robert M. Monsen, Fox Island, Wash., was elected president of the American Academy of the History of Dentistry. Other officers elected were Dr. William B. Coffman, Redlands, Calif., president-elect; Dr. K. Keith Savage, Abilene, Texas, vice president; Dr. Ben Z. Swanson, Baltimore, archivist; Dr. Jack W. Gottschalk, Cincinnati, member-at-large; and Dr. Hannelore T. Loevy, Chicago, editor.

Dr. Kevin Sims, Birmingham, Ala., received the Outstanding Young Alumni award from the University of Alabama-Birmingham School of Dentistry.

Dr. John Reinhardt, Iowa City, Iowa, was named dean of the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry.
