APPOINTMENTS/ELECTIONS/AWARDS

The Orofacial Pain Clinic of the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery has been named in honor of Dr. Don-N. Brotman, Baltimore, and his son Dr. Sol G. Brotman, Jacksonville, Fla.

Dr. Mark Davis, Clearwater, Fla., was elected president of the Board of Directors of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry. Dr. Robert J. Buhite, Sr., Rochester, N.Y., also was elected to the board.

Dr. Peter DeSciscio, Perth Amboy, N.J., has been elected to the Board of Trustees of the Foundation of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

Dr. Robert Modlin, West Lafayette, Ind., received the Maynard K. Hine Medal from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

Dr. David C. Hamilton, Jr., Hickory, N.C., was elected president of the North Carolina Association of Orthodontists. Other officers elected were Dr. James Buckthal, Raleigh, president-elect; Dr. Henry Zaytoun, Jr., Raleigh, secretary-treasurer; Dr. David Paquette, Charlotte, director-at-large; Dr. Keith Black, Asheville, director-at-large; and Dr. Raymond Ball, Jr., Morehead City, director-at-large. Dr. Richard Vanek, Jacksonville, is immediate past president.

Wilma E. Motley, R.D.H., Baltimore, was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the University of Southern California Dental School.

Dr. Edwin S. Rosenburg, Philadelphia, was awarded the Saul Schluger Professorship for the year 2000 by the University of Washington.

Dr. David Neumeister, Brattleboro, Vt., was presented with the James W. Etherington Award by the Massachusetts Dental Society.

Dr. Domenick Zero, Pittsford, N.Y., has been named director of the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis Oral Health Research Institute and chair of its preventive and community dentistry department.
