APPOINTMENTS/ELECTIONS/AWARDS

Dr. Marjolein V. Ancona, Cincinnati, received the Humanitarian Award from the Academy of Dentistry International.

Dr. Kenneth Anusavice, Newberry, Fla., was elected vice president of the American Association for Dental Research.

Dr. Ramon J. Baez, San Antonio, received the International Dentist of the Year award from the Academy of Dentistry International.

Dr. Kenneth W. Bueltmann, Glenview, Ill., was elected president of the American Academy of Periodontology. Other officers are Dr. Gordon L. Douglass, Sacramento, Calif., president-elect; Dr. Michael P. Rethman, Honolulu, vice president; and Dr. Vince J. Iacono, Stony Brook, N.Y., secretary/treasurer.

Dr. D. Walter Cohen, Philadelphia, received the Founding President Award from the Friends of the National Institute for Dental and Craniofacial Research.

Dr. Karl F. Leinfelder, Chapel Hill, N.C., received the Award of Distinction from the Academy of Dentistry International.

Dr. Boyd J. Tomasetti, Columbine Valley, Colo., was elected president of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Other officers are Dr. Larry W. Nissen, Merritt Island, Fla., president-elect; Dr. Elgan P. Stamper, La Canada, Calif., vice president; and Dr. Jay P. Malmquist, Portland, Ore., treasurer.

Dr. Paul O. Walker, Shoreview, Minn., was installed as president of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Larry A. Williams, Benson, N.C., was elected president of the Academy of Dentistry International. Other officers are Dr. Lawrence K. Cox, Adrian, Mich., president-elect; and Dr. Donald T. Brown, Covington, La., vice president of finance and administration.
