JADA, ADA NEWS HONORED FOR EXCELLENCE

Your ADA publications are among the best in the country, but don’t take our word for it.

The Society of National Association Publications, better known as SNAP, announced in April that The Journal of the American Dental Association received the 2001 Gold Award for general excellence in a scholarly journal.

The ADA News received the Silver Award for general excellence among association newspapers.

"On behalf of the ADA and its members, I want to convey our heartiest congratulations to JADA and the ADA News on receiving these awards," said ADA President Robert M. Anderton. "These publications are and will continue to be not only our major source of news and information, but a premier member benefit as well. Our most sincere appreciation goes to Dr. Lawrence H. Meskin, editor, and the entire publications staff for a job well done."

Dr. Meskin said he was "ecstatic" about the awards. "It’s an honor shared by all the people who put their energies into making JADA and ADA News quality publications," he said.

Laura A. Kosden is publisher and chief operating officer of the ADA Publishing Division, ADA Business Enterprises Inc.

"I am delighted and honored that ADA periodicals were recognized by our peers for their excellence in two critical areas—scholarly journals and news," she said. "It is so rewarding to know how others appreciate the major effort that goes into producing publications that are meeting member needs."

The ADA’s flagship publications were among 850 entries in SNAP’s 2001 awards competition. SNAP is a non-profit professional society serving association publishers and communications professionals across the country.
