APPOINTMENTS/ELECTIONS/AWARDS

Dr. Richard Crout, Hurricane, W.Va., was elected president of the West Virginia Association of Orthodontists. Other officers are Dr. Larry Kalaskey, Charleston, president-elect; and Dr. Imad Shammaa, Charleston, secretary-treasurer. Dr. Peter Ngan, Morgantown, is immediate past president.

Dr. Calogero Dolce, Gainesville, Fla., was awarded the KLS Martin Prize for Distraction Osteogenesis/Orthognathic Surgery.

Dr. Gordon L. Douglass, Sacramento, Calif., was elected president of the American Academy of Periodontology. Other officers are Dr. Michael P. Rethman, Kaneohe, Hawaii, president-elect; Dr. Vince J. Iacono, Stony Brook, N.Y., vice president; and Dr. Kenneth A. Krebs, Chicago, secretary-treasurer. Dr. Kenneth W. Bueltmann, Glenview, Ill., is immediate past president.

Dr. Shari Durrett, Gainesville, Fla., was awarded a research fund from the Southern Association of Orthodontists.

Dr. Rochelle Lindemeyer, Philadelphia, was appointed assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Frank Maggio, Elgin, Ill., was elected chairman of the National Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped. Other officers are Stephen Weinstein, Denver, assistant secretary/treasurer; Dr. Jeanne Altieri, Hartford, Conn., director; and Dr. Joseph Diaz, Sun City Center, Fla., director.

Dr. J. Bryan Quattlebaum, Rancho Cordova, Calif., was elected to the Union of American Physicians and Dentists’ board of directors.

Dr. Michael Rogers, Augusta, Ga., was elected trustee of the American Association of Orthodontists.

Dr. Harold I. Sussman, Scarsdale, N.Y., was promoted to clinical professor at New York University College of Dentistry.

Dr. Marshall Titus, Federal Way, Wash., was appointed to the Washington State Dental Quality Assurance Commission.
