Dr. Jeffrey A. Platt, Ft. Wayne, Ind., was appointed to the Ralph W. Phillips Endowed Professorship Fund position at Indiana University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Paul W. Johnson, Lubbock, Texas, was installed as president of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. Other officers are Dr. Kevin O’Grady, Westerville, Ohio, secretary; and Dr. A. Norman Cranin, Hewlett Bay Park, N.Y., editor-in-chief. Dr. Emile Martin, Syracuse, N.Y., is immediate past president.
Dr. Myron Allukian, Boston, is the first dentist to receive the Sedgwick Memorial Medal from the American Public Health Association.
Anthea Drew, Gainesville, Fla., was elected regional trustee of the American Student Dental Association.
Dr. Jay Garlitz, Hawthorne, Fla., was the Florida Dental Association’s 2001 Dentist of the Year.
