Editor’s note

The ADA agrees that educating dentists on oral cancer is important. To that end, the Council on Access, Prevention and Interprofessional Relations has submitted a request to the National Institutes of Health/National Cancer Institute to fund a multiyear project that would provide continuing education to dentists on oral cancer diagnosis, and also would provide tobacco-use–cessation services to patients. The proposal received favorable review; the Association awaits notice of whether funding will be allocated.
