Dr. Aljernon J. Bolden,Boston, was appointed professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry and director of oral health for the City of Chicago.
Dr. Paul B. Robertson, Seattle, was appointed a distinguished professor in dentistry by the Washington Dental Service Foundation.
Dr. Gerald A. Smith, Americus, Ga., was elected president of the Georgia Association of Orthodontists. Other officials are Dr. Robert A. Vaught, Savannah, president-elect; Dr. Jeffrey Jordan, Alpharetta, vice-president; and Dr. Christopher Getchell, Roswell, secretary-treasurer. Dr. Kent Starling Jr., Lawrenceville, is past president.
Dr. Ozlem Yilmaz, Seattle, was named a Magnuson Scholar by the University of Washington School of Dentistry.
Dr. Susan L. Zunt, Indianapolis, was appointed chair of the department of oral pathology, medicine and radiology at the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis School of Dentistry.
