Dr. Sheldon Bernick, Broomall, Pa., received the Harold Berk Award from the Academy of Dentistry for Persons With Disabilities.
Dr. J. Henry Clarke, Portland, Ore., was elected member-at-large of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis.
Dr. George Stookey, Indianapolis, received the 2002 Research in Dental Caries Award from the International Association for Dental Research. Dr. John Yagiela, Los Angeles, received the 2002 Pharmacology, Therapeutics and Toxicology Research Award; and Dr. John Rugh, San Antonio, received the 2002 Behavioral Sciences and Health Services Research Award.
Dr. Patricia Sukmonowski, New York City, was elected president of the New York chapter of the American Association of Women Dentists.
Dr. Ned B. Van Roekel, Rochester, Minn., was elected president of the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry. Other officers are Dr. James C. Kessler, Tulsa, Okla., president-elect; and Dr. Thad Langford, Bozeman, Mont., secretary-treasurer.
