DENTAL IMPLANT SUCCESS

I congratulate Dr. Lawrence Dario and colleagues on a superior article identifying biomechanical parameters that accurately and predictably match clinical implant success ("Electronic Monitoring of Dental Implant Osseointegration," April JADA).

I wish to point out that resonance-frequency analysis has been utilized in ultrasonography of the temporomandibular joint for the past 10 years to determine the vibrational energy components of the joint, which relate to clinical diagnostic criteria.

I will point out, however, that direct resonance testing, which is an energetic assessment modality, reveals that Figures 1 through 7 in the article manifest a Borrelia burgdorferi infection14 correlating to the implant site labeled A and B. Long-term implant success will be further enhanced by identifying any and all interfering pathogens and remedying them from the surgical site.
