Starting within the next several weeks, the manuscript review process for The Journal of the American Dental Association will be handled through JADA Editor Marjorie K. Jeffcoat’s office at the University of Alabama, Birmingham.
Until now, JADA’s manuscript peer review was managed out of the Chicago offices of ADA Publishing, a division of ADA Business Enterprises Inc.
"Our goal is to streamline the review process for authors and reviewers alike," said Dr. Jeffcoat, who chairs the Department of Periodontology at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry.
"The move should help us reduce the turnaround time on articles and make JADA a more timely publication," she said. "It’s important to note, however, that JADA’s peer-review process will remain thorough and vigilant—our assurance to readers that what they’re reading is grounded in good science."
