MUNDANE MODALITIES?

Has the necessity to publish become such a priority for our educators that they have to create esoteric surveying methods of incredibly mundane treatment modalities ("Teaching Students the Repair of Resin-Based Composite Restorations: A Survey of North American Dental Schools," by Dr. Valeria Gordan and colleagues, March JADA)? Forget the statistics, the graphs and the verbosityheres the deal!
- When caries is detected, remove it.
- If you are certain the caries is eliminated and the remaining resin-based composite, or RBC, is stable and esthetically satisfactory, a repair is indicated.
- Otherwise, remove the RBC in toto and restore appropriately.
"Wheres the beef?" Seven pages to describe the obviousshame! Surely there are better things to do with dental students time.
