APPOINTMENTS/ELECTIONS/AWARDS

Dr. Carl M. Allen, Columbus, Ohio, was elected president of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. Other officers are Dr. Lewis R. Eversole, San Diego, president-elect; Dr. Brad W. Neville, Charleston, S.C., vice president; and Dr. Michael A. Kahn, Boston, secretary-treasurer. Dr. Mark W. Lingen, Oak Park, Ill., and Dr. Esther L. Childers, McLean, Va., are councilors. Dr. John M. Wright, Dallas, is director of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology.

Dr. Noah Chivian, Livingston, N.J., received the Coolidge Award from the American Association of Endodontists. Other recipients are Dr. Franklin Weine, Olympia Fields, Ill., Grossman Award; and Dr. Shahrokh Shabahang, Redlands, Calif., Osetek Educator Award.

Dr. Kenneth M. Clemens, Lima, Ohio, received an honorary Associate in Applied Science degree from Rhodes State College.

Dr. Oscar De Priest IV, Bedford, Mass., was promoted to brigadier general and assistant surgeon general in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Dr. Craig S. Miller, Lexington, Ky., was elected president of the American Academy of Oral Medicine. Other officers are Dr. Michael Siegel, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., vice-president; Dr. Craig Hatch, Chagrin Falls, Ohio, secretary; Dr. Michael Glick, Newark, N.J., assistant secretary; and Dr. John Robinson, Santa Rosa, Calif., recording secretary.

Dr. Carl W. Newton, Indianapolis, and Dr. Alfred W. Reader, Pataskala, Ohio, are new directors of the American Board of Endodontics.
