Editor’s note
As Dr. Linden notes correctly, public sector and other traditional sources of research funding have become increasingly limited in recent years. As a result, much of the cutting-edge product research being conducted today is industry-supported. Through JADA’s stringent, even exhaustive, peer-review process—as well as our conflict-of-interest disclosure requirements—The Journal editors are vigilant in preserving and protecting JADA’s cherished integrity. That has not and will not change. Nevertheless, disclosure statements are included with articles so that readers can make up their own minds about the value of specific research reports. That, too, has not changed and will not change.
