I should like to update our November 2002 JADA case report, "Identifying Skeletal Remains Found in a Sewer." The concluding sentences stated that, "as of August 2002, the case remained open as an unsolved homicide. Law enforcement agencies are still pursuing all leads."
I am happy to report that on Feb. 9, 2004, after more than five and one-half years of tenacious police investigation, a confession has been obtained and this crime has been solved. Credit goes to the excellent police work of West Whiteland Township, Pa., Police Chief Ralph Burton, Detective Sgt. Joseph Catov; Chester County detectives Michael McGinnis and Kenneth W. Beam; and former FBI agent John Whiteside.
