I found Dr. Gordon Christensens October JADA article, "Why Switch to Digital Radiography," very interesting.
As an amateur photographer who has recently explored digital photography, I am impressed with the ease by which digital images can be altered using commercially available photo-editing software. Does this also extend to digital radiography?
Dr. Christensen praises the option for digital radiographs to be lightened, darkened or enlarged. It would seem to me that they also could be altered to erase some evidence that might prove damaging in a malpractice suit.
I would be curious to learn from Dr. Christensen what is the legal status of digital radiographs as opposed to conventional film radiographs.
