At press time, The Journal of the American Dental Association was scheduled to launch on Nov. 15 a new, fully electronic system for submission and review of manuscripts submitted for publication in dentistrys best-read journal.
JADA Manuscript Central will bring the entire manuscript and review system online using state-of-the-art software developed by ScholarOne (Charlottesville, Va.). Authors and reviewers will receive all correspondenceincluding reminders and notification of manuscript statusvia e-mail and will submit all documents electronically using the secure and confidential JADA manuscript application.
The new system not only will save money for the Association and its members in postage, paper and staff costs, but it also will streamline the review process for authors and reviewers alike, shortening the time frame between manuscript submission and publication.
Before the Nov. 15 rollout, authors with manuscripts currently under review and reviewers already on JADAs rolls will receive an e-mail notifying them of the availability of the site and providing a user ID and password to log in.
JADA will continue to accept hard-copy submissions during a grace period while authors and reviewers get used to the new system. Following the grace period, manuscript submission will be accepted exclusively through JADA Manuscript Central.
