ACCESS TO CARE

Dr. Albert Guay’s November 2004 article, "Access to Dental Care," is both timely and yet long overdue.

Too often, I have read about those single-factor solutions Dr. Guay addresses under the heading "If You’d Only Just ... ." The ADA should insist that public health organizations and think tanks apply Dr. Guay’s triad of essential factors.

It should also be uplifting for us to see the glass as half-full, as Dr. Guay also points out that the majority of Americans have adequate access to dental care and are seeking dental care in greater numbers.
