Author’s response

We want to thank Dr. Gladstein for his interest in our article. We agree that effective testing of articaine and lidocaine at varying concentrations and quantities would provide very useful information regarding efficacy in buccal infiltration of mandibular teeth. We chose to use commercially available concentrations and amounts of articaine and lidocaine as an initial first step in evaluating mandibular buccal infiltrations. Further studies using varying concentrations are warranted.
